RUN. HIDE. FIGHT. Surviving an Active Shooter Event
This video, commissioned in 2012 by the Mayor of Houston, Texas under a DHS grant, provides valuable tips for surviving an “active shooter” encounter. The setting is a workplace, but the same principles can be applied pretty much anywhere.
And yes, as many have pointed out over the last year, this response precludes the presence of a trained, armed citizen with a carry permit- concealed or not. Workplaces are often “gun free zones” (which only applies to those interested in following rules or laws, but that’s a discussion for another time and place). and this video focuses on that sort of environment.
